The names confirmed by official coverage
KONAMI’s game website names Death, Medusa, Carmilla, and Joan of Arc. Xbox Wire’s developer interview and preview repeats those official names. That is the basis for listing them here rather than using an assumed series roster.
The names establish which encounters are represented in the retained official material. They do not identify every boss in the game or prove where each belongs in a full walkthrough. A boss list should not silently become a progression sequence when the sources only supply names.
The Fallen in hands-on reports
The PlayStation Blog hands-on report documents The Fallen and Joan encounters. MonsterVine’s separate PAX West account also documents The Fallen. These reports support including The Fallen while keeping its evidence label distinct from the four names retained from official product coverage.
The reports describe their own hands-on experiences, not a completed retail campaign. They can corroborate an encounter without proving every later version of its behavior. This guide therefore names the boss but does not attach an unverified move list, health value, or required strategy.

Why the list is a subset
The research explicitly identifies the roster as incomplete. Combining the official names with documented preview encounters improves coverage of the question, but it does not close every gap. The number of names on this page is not a confirmed total boss count.
The same limit applies to order. A source that discusses an early encounter does not establish where all the other bosses appear. Until the full route is verified, names are more reliable than a fabricated sequence of chapters and arenas.
What a supported boss guide needs
The retained file supports identification of the named encounters rather than a complete tactics manual. It does not provide tested damage values, exact attack timing, or confirmed arena routes. Those omissions prevent this page from presenting a supposedly optimal strategy for each boss.
If you are comparing different pieces of boss coverage, check whether the author identifies the build and encounter. A trailer appearance, an official name, and a hands-on fight answer different questions. Keeping those distinctions visible is more useful than merging them into one untested set of instructions.
Use this page as an identification reference
The direct answer is the official subset plus The Fallen as documented by previews. The page can help you recognize a name in official coverage or find the source behind it. It does not claim that every listed encounter is mandatory or that its position in the list represents difficulty.
For ability acquisition, use the Arcana guide, which explains the boss-linked system using its own sources. For general opening combat, use the beginner guide instead of treating this list as a walkthrough. That keeps encounter identification separate from advice the boss document cannot verify.
Sources and research date
This article uses the material retained in the October 13, 2026 research. Official descriptions, developer statements, and hands-on observations are identified in the section references. Details are scoped to those sources and are not a claim of independently completed retail testing.
